Places to Visit
Kassiopi a charming little village, with a traditional port. Tourism has of course had its influence, but you can still find local fishermen bringing home the morning catch down at the harbour. The town and surrounding area offers something for everyone. The Harbour and the busy town center is offset by the quiet and tranquility of a short walk around the headland.
From the left of the harbour towards the top end of the town, takes you to the main coastal road.. |
ACHARAVI is a quiet village resort with plenty of shops and many tavernas, several of them very good.
The resort at Acharavi is long and strung out along the main road, where most of the restaurants and bars are sited, with yet more restaurants along the road fronting beach.
Acharavi is rather Anglicized, although nowhere as bad as Roda or Sidari and the shops have little variety.
There is a distinct lack of TVs and other entertainment in the bars and restaurants, though this will probably change over time.
Most of the more traditional tavernas are found towards the old town. |
Roda beach is on the north coast of Corfu, 27 miles north-west of Corfu town and airport and just 2 miles west of its neighbour Acharavi village. Roda is a modern beach resort found at the western end of an enormous bay and is backed by mountains.
Rapid growth has meant little remains of Roda as fishing village, though there are some narrow lanes and older buildings in the centre.
