Agios Stefanos resort is situated at a distance of about 38 kilometers from the capital of the island of Corfu as well as from the airport. The maximum transfer time by bus is 1h 45 min & 45 minutes by car.
It was one of the first fishing villages of Corfu Island. With a backdrop of gentle hills, olive groves and an unspoilt rural valley,Agios Stefanos beach is over a mile long and offers both shallow, flashing blue water, safe for children and a broad stretch of golden soft sand.
This safe, spacious and relatively undeveloped beach is popular with children and has been the centerpiece of many family holidays. Agios Stefanos is a quiet fishing village which has added tourism over the last twenty years without losing its identity.
Fishing is still a very important part of the local economy. In Agios Stefanos are several tavernas and bars which are open till the last customer has decided enough is enough and requests a guiding hand back to their apartment.
There are a variety of supermarkets, gift shops, jeweler shops, laundries and bakeries.
At the local harbour of Agios Stefanosabout 10 minutes walk from the center you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishing boats as they come in early in the morning. |
